On Monday 321 Studios has released two new updates for their controversial DVD X Copy
software. As most of our readers will know 321 Studios is currently involved in
a legal battle because their DVD X Copy software allows people to back-up
copy-protected DVDs with just a few mouse clicks. On the 321 Studios Forum we
can find the following list of changes for DVD X Copy Platinum and DVD X Copy Xpress v3.2.0:
| Here is the list of changes in Platinum v3.2.0 (this list may change):  TDF's are now functional. Support for 321 live user exchange will be available soon. - Usb and firewire support for external burners is greatly improved.
- Uninstall in Windows 98/Me functions correctly.
- Disc finalization is greatly improved on all operating systems, disc drives, and computer models.
- Preview function works now in Windows 98/Me.
- Optorite drive DD0203 now works properly.
- Plextor 708 drive now works properly.
- Various memory leaks have been repaired resulting in fewer crashes, and faster reading.
- The 'Instant Burn" problem has been resolved.
- The audio and subtitle track information was not updating when titlesets were selected, this is now fixed.
- Standalone Xpress will not un-install if Platinum is un-installed.
- Platinum Icon is removed when program is un-installed.
Known Issues: - The 99% read error still exist in rare cases. We have identified the issue and will correct in the next release.
- The Optorite DD0201 does not burn properly with +RW media. +R media work correctly.
- Force DVD ROM has been disabled due to incompatibility with some drives. We are currently working on a list of compatable drives and will enable the feature to work with these drives in a future release.

DVD X Copy software is topping our
Software Section when it comes to number of downloads (almost 40,000!) while
