If you have a Philips 1640P drive, then drive reviewer Jan S. has some good news for you! He recently received and tested a new firmware for the Philips DVDR1640P '“ version P3.0. This firmware is not officially released yet and Jan is the only one outside Philips to have given it a spin so far, but we were given permission to let users know it is coming soon, once the people at Philips know it's ready. We hope it will be within the next few days.
In the meantime, we can look forward to the following changes:

But, it's such good news we wanted to let everyone concerned know as soon as we could, Philips was kind enough to let us do that.
