A company called MarineAV from the United Kingdom introduced an expensive, waterproof HDTV. The $55,000 TV shows it can handle water and comes with a Samsung panel. "Oh, I forgot, it's not really about what's on the TV, it's about being able to say: I had a spare 50 grand sitting around to blow on this TV," said a Book of Joe visitor.
This isn't the first waterproof HDTV around, but definitely the biggest. Last week Sanyo announced a 52-inch waterproof LCD TV and earlier this year we saw Aquavision entering the market with a 57-inch version.
MarineAV's 70-inch HDTV comes in full 1080p HD and is only available for those willing and able to drop 50k.
