60x CD-ROM drive already sold in Japan

The Japanese website akiba.ascii24.com reports that a company called EPO released a 60x CD-ROM drive, bringing the CD-ROM speeds to a next level.

The drive with modelnumber CD-6000CD is for sale at 3000 Yen. But is it really reading back at 60 speed ? Well it could be using multiple laser beams, so it's possible (like the Kenwood TrueX drives):

Badly translated with Babelfish:

The product of the enterprise, " CD-6000CD " and as for this which is named the Taiwan EPO Science and Technology. Although in the past, 60 time fast read-out there was a product which was rumored at portion of the Taiwan product, if you tried opening the cover, by any means it becomes insecure to the notion that where partly due, it had reached to less than 50 time speed,, but this time " the 60x " it is cut in the tray, the possibility 60 time fast read-out being possible is rather high. Because release it has done the product of 72 time fast read-out to which the adopts the multiple beam, although it is not most speed in history accurately, as a CD-ROM drive of standard specification perhaps it is thought as most speed in history.
