We can not say that the Playstation 3 is the best player out there, but it's definetly the most popular way to get into the format. To make the console as 'blu', as it can, Sony decided to integrate a Bluetooth remote control.
Whatever Sony was thinking, they were not thinking enough. With making the remote control 'blu', it was impossible to integrate the PS3 with your system's remote scheme. From now on it will be possible to control your PS3 like any other Blu-ray player. An IR receiver captures commands from a standard infrared remote control, figures out what they are, and then sends the correct electrical impulse.
This all stimulates you to push a button, resulting in the right command being send to the Playstation.
