Alpine Electronics and XM Satellite Radio have teamed up to produce the new CDA-9820XM in-dash receiver that eliminates the need for a separate XM satellite tuner box. Oddly, you still need to purchase an XM antenna separately to use the reciever.
The CDA-9820XM features a bright, two color, eight character display, that shows XM channel number, name, category, song title or artist. XM channels are available over three bands and you can program pre-sets for up to 18 channels. An optional remote control enables users to directly input channel numbers.

The 50W Max x 4 / 18W RMS x 4 amplified unit will be available in January for for a target retail price of $ 349 dollars. You can go here to see the press release.
