Just what we really needed; another new HD format that might catch on! Major French distributors Seven 7 and Metropolitan FilmExport, have signed on with New Medium Enterprises, backer of yet another HD format, HD VDM. This technology is available in France, and supports multi-layered capacities of up to 48GB and resolution of 1080p. This September, they plan to release twenty titles from each partner with five per month thereafter.
Don't dismiss these guys; they currently have rights to Lord of the Rings and their players will start at $400.
