As I announced in an earlier posting we had special Other stuff ™ postings back in the days. Today is another day for Other stuff ™.
What do you think about this posting on our forum. A lot of people seem to have the same problem with their LiteOn 24/10/40, caused by a malicious mainboard:
I bought last friday a new liteon 24x. I installed it and it was working perfectly till saturday evening. I turn off my PC, and after 15 minutes I turned on again my PC, but while it started the tray of my Liteon opened itself, with my surprise I closed again it but after 2 sec. |
It opened the tray again, this till I decided to turn of the Pc. I made many tests,I tested the Liteon without data cable and it seems to work, so I bought this evening a new cable ATA 100 and connected it. It seemed to work but now the problems come back again...
I tried to change From IDE 1 to IDE 2, to set the bios to safe settings but nothing changed.
This fack tray opens every time by itself, even under the boot moment so even outside Windows.
What is happening?
Of course our LiteOn Forum Moderator OC-Freak came to the rescue and the problem seems to be caused by Abit mainboards.
