Anti-Piracy film trailer unveiled

A new cinema trailer has hit the big screen in Australia  that compares downloading films illegaly to other serious thefts such as stealing cars according to website Screen Daily.com.  Over 1,900 copies of the trailer have been distributed and the format will be adapted for use globally around the world in the future, so cinema watchers can expect to see some kind of anti-piracy trailer at the start of films they watch.  The Motion Picture Association of America produced the trailer and it was adapted for the Australian Audience.

Australia has been hit by a large amount of pirate goods recently most coming from Asia, just last week an Australian court sentenced a man to jail after a surge in Piracy.  The movie industry is taking the threat seriously and is trying to educate movie users about the risks.

Read the full story over at The BBC.  Well let's compare wasting resources and money arresting people for downloading movies to the many poor people that have no food or money.  Would it not be better to use the money companies like the MPAA and RIAA waste to prosecute people for downloading music / movies and give it charities that want to spend money to help people in poor countries.  Why not replace the anti piracy trailer with one that encourages people to give money to charity to help those that aren't so lucky.  I think its disgusting that companies like this can spend so much money on adverts to avoid piracy when people out there have no money no homes etc why not spend money on these people as these people need money.  The Movie industry is doing really well their sales of DVD's and films are sky high they are making money they should do something that contributes to society not steals more back.
