Womble used our news submit to tell us Tom's Hardware is reporting that Archos has a new device on the
market that brings portable video recording to the table.

Archos, mainly known for its portable audio and video players, today announced, as far as we know, the first portable video player and recorder.

The Pocket Video Recorder AV4100
complements the existing AV400 product line and integrates a 100 GByte
harddrive. The device uses a cradle to record television shows and movies
directly from a TV, VCR, cable set-top box or satellite receiver. Playback
is supported with an external speaker for listening to music and videos
without headphones.

Though it's not cheap, with an MSRP of $800 dollars US,
the unit features a 3.8-inch display, capable of 320 x 240 pixels, with a color
depth of 262,000 colors. Dvds will playback at up to 704 x 480 pixels.
