Asus announces new mainboards with Integrated HDMI

To add support for High Definition on a computer, other than a monitor with the right resolution one of the first things to be updated is the video card, selecting one with HDMI interface and an enough powerful GPU, to avoid that it's the CPU to do all the work.

Even if usually integrated graphic solutions cannot guarantee the same performance of a good graphic card, Asus announced the new G35 chipset mainboards featuring an onboard HDMI connector. On the news published at Digitimes, two models are announced: P5E-V HDMI and P5E-VM HDMI, but at the moment in the Asus website is available only the P5E-VM HDMI.

The Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X3500 integrated has the following features:

  • Dual VGA output support: HDMI/DVI-D and RGB
  • Supports RGB with max. resolution 2048 x 1536@75Hz
  • Supports HDMI with max. resolution 1920 x 1200@60Hz
  • Supports DVI with max. resolution 1920 x 1200@60Hz
  • Maximum shared memory of 384 MB
