BenQ announced its new DW1620 Pro, the successor of probably the best DVD+/-RW drive on the market, the DW1620A. The specs of the DW1620 Pro are very similar to the specs of the DW1620A, which won our editors choice award . The only difference is, that BenQ has upgraded the writing speed and the drive is now able to write DVD+R DL medias up to 4x speed.
Besides Nero Express 6 (OEM Suite), which BenQ will probably ship also with other drives in the future, the package contains BenQ QVideo 2.0 and BenQ Booktype Management 8.3, a software that allows you to save video material on DVD without saving on your hard disk first.
The drive will be available for about €99 from the middle of November.

Those of you that own a DW1620A, might be able to upgrade your drives to this "new" version. All you have to do is to visit our BenQ/Philips Forum at Club CD Freaks and look out for suggestions where you can find modified firmwares or guides that tell you how to upgrade this drive.
