read over at DigiTimes that BenQ recently unveiled an external USB2.0-16x DVD
dual layer burner. Dubbed the EW164B it will be available in
Taiwan later this month at a for around $118.00. The USB drive will have
theSolidBurn technology just like their
internal drives, in case you don't know, this can give the end user a
burning speed higher than the designed level such as burning 12x on a 8x DVD
disc.

According to the article, the drive will also be
launched in China next month, then we can expect shipments to
Europe sometime in late September and to the US a month after
that.
