Benq introduces 52x designer CD-R media with Dataquard technology

Benq Europe
has sent us a press release announcing new 52x CD-R media. Although that might sound like nothing special to you, it is. The company will be releasing designer CD-Rs. From December 2003 there will 3 designs available and each season Benq will add new designs. Besides its original looks, Benq also promises that the data stored on the CD-Rs is much safer than when stored on common CD recordables.

BenQ's new 52x CD-R is more than just a pretty face.  It features BenQ's unique proprietary data protection system 'DataGuard™". This security system, developed in response to consumer needs, offers triple data protection: Golden Recording Layer, Strengthened Substrate, and Durable UV Lacquer and ensures impeccable security that protects the recorded data from heat, light, humidity and time.  Under an accelerated aging test in the laboratory, it has been conclusively proved that DataGuard™ technology is able to preserve data for the equivalent of 100 years!

In December the company will release 'Studio Master"
and 'Platinum Record" (both reflecting the image of the music industry) and
'Football" (designed for all enthusiasts in the style of a
football).
