The people who shop at Best Buy are embracing Blu-ray more than those who shop at Amazon, Walmart or any other retailer, this according to a study of research firm NPD. Best Buy holds the number one spot, followed by Amazon, Wal-mart, Target and number five Blockbuster, which is almost the same as in a previous survey, but back then Circuit City hold the fourth spot and Target was at number five.
Amazon is the rising star here, which comes at no suprise as it is putting a lot of effort in promoting Blu-ray on its website but it also has the demographics that most likely attracts Blu-ray buyers. Because many of its customers are early adopters with an above average income and education.
