German website Heise.de reports that Bill Gates has stated that he
thinks that the DVD player will no longer be used within 10 years. Bill Gates
has said this in an interview with the German newspage Bild . The founder of worlds largest software company Microsoft believes that the future is in mobile equipment such as pocket PCs and mobile phones. According to Gates it's ridiculous that we still have to carry around silver plates with music and movies on it as they can be easily scratched or lost.
Instead he believes that by using computers the TV of the future will easily show us what we want, when we want.. For mobile phones he predicts we can read bar-codes and mobile phones with camera's will be able to translate the menu's in foreign countries.
