Blindwrite updated, now also backups SafeDisc 2.9x protected titles


VSO Software has released an update of their
popular 1:1 recording software, the Blindwrite Suite. The update enables users
to make backups of SafeDisc 2.9x protected games and introduces a changed image
format. Also CD-Rs larger then 90 minutes are now recognized and burnable by
Blindwrite. Here are the release notes of version 4.4.

Fix CUE file generation

  • Weak sectors
    enhancement for degraded weak sectors. Result is hardware dependant and
    may vary

    is now completely asynchronous (there is no timeout, livassist window

  • In the CD image
    selection when you edit the box without pressing enter and click next,
    the change of the image file isn't accepted. It's fixed now

  • CD > 90 minutes
    shall be handled now

    • WARNING:
      Since BR 4.3.0, BWI file is NO LONGER
      COMPATIBLE with CUE/BIN file specs. CUE/BIN specs requires that CD image
      start from sector 0, BWI image now start from sector -150. BWI image is
      now 150*2352 bytes larger than the equivalent BIN image. Because of that
      changes, we strongly recommend to use Blindread generated images ONLY with
      Blindwrite.
