A final spec list of the Advanced Access Content System (AACS) content protection system seems to miss out on it's Managed Copy function. This function allows users to copy high-def content onto their own home network, which means that you can easily copy a Blu-ray movie to your PC. Of course Hollywood doesn't think that much of the function since they see this as a first step to piracy.
For now there is no official word from the AACS Licensing Administration, but Consumer Electronics Daily said they are sure the technology won't be added to AACS's spec list. Some movie studios started their own copying spree by adding one digital copy to every DVD and Blu-ray movie. 20th Century Fox Entertainment did this with the new Hitman movie and Lionsgate has plans to add a digital iTunes copy of Rambo to its Blu-ray version.
How this will develop can't be said yet. What we need now is an official announcement from the Licensing Administration.
