Buffalo, has announced a new product. They will offer a hybrid blue-laser-based optical disc drive for PCs, which will allow owners to watch high definition quality on a computer. The external drive will play both Blu-ray discs as HD DVD discs.
Buffalo's external HD-drive is fitted with an USB connection, allowing you to use the drive on your laptop, desktop or other devices. The drive, known as the MediaStation, is priced at $649 and will be available in the first quarter of 2008.
A disadvantage is the one-year warranty and the high price compared to the HD-drives from Toshiba ($120-200) and Pioneer ($200). What do you think that will happen, will they sell any?
