Here is a preview of one of the latest DVD-ReWriters from Plextor, the PX-755A. This dual layer drive is interesting in that we can see from reading the specs, that the company is reporting 10x writing speeds for DVD+R DL media. That's pretty quick! In all, the Plextor PX755-Asupports 16x DVD±R, 8x/6x DVD+RW/DVD-RW and 10x/6x DVD+R DL/DVD-R DL writing.
In this preliminary look, using 1.00 version firmware, Jan S. will take us through the details of what we can be expected from this hardware at present. In addition, for those unfamiliar with Plextor, Jan has taken the time to list some of the many features of this drive such as PowerRec for optimizing the writing on different medias, SecureRecording for archiving data with a password and along the same lines, a digital shredder of sorts- PlexEraser. With this added utility, you can be sure that your disc is unreadable. There are more tools that come with this PX-755A that you might find worth checking out, these are just a few.
