Forum Moderator and Reviewer Dee-27 has just finished an objective and very interesting look at this brand new Nero burning application suite for Linux, called NeroLINUX. As we all know, Linux is a very popular OS that can offer us among other things, great stability and security, not to mention it's one of the most hopeful challenges to the Microsoft Empire. Linux has come so far, that it's no longer just for those that prefer the command line, many distros out there now are quite polished and easy to use, such as the one Dee prefers at the moment, SuSE 9.3.
We all realize as well, that in order to accelerate improvement in any product, competition is key. Without it, we see that developers can become complacent and insensitive to users needs. A classic example is of the recent announcement by Microsoft, that they did not intend to continue development of Internet Explorer, in their eyes, it was "done" and they rested on their laurels with an impressive 90%+ share. Then along came the bombshell Firefox. We can see from our own stats, that a full 25% that visit this website are using Firefox now instead of IE. This is consistent with the statistics found around the web and it was enough to make Redmond get off their duffs and start writing to IE again. In fact, MS intends to debut IE7 this summer!
The good
news does not stop there, because any of us out there that already own the great burning app, Nero Ultra Edition or greater for Windows, can point Firefox (or Internet Explorer) to the Nero site and download NeroLINUX for free! So, if you are interested in learning a new way to burn your discs, using an alternative and stable OS, check out Dee's review of this exciting new software.

With free downloads of Linux distributions all over the Internet and now with a free application to serve our burning needs, maybe it is time to give Linux a try. At least we should show Nero we are interested by downloading and installing their app so that they will continue to develop this important product. You can find the review here, thanks Dee - this is a good one!
