New Capabilities Provide More Power for Unrivaled Productivity

Canopus Corporation today announced EDIUS 2.5, the latest version of its acclaimed nonlinear editing application. EDIUS 2.5 includes a host of new features to better assist
editors with their workflow and boost productivity, such as the ability to select and move multiple clips, quickly apply filters and transitions to any number of clips simultaneously, merge EDIUS projects together, and a new cropping, scaling, repositioning tool for realtime aspect ratio conversions. Also included in EDIUS 2.5 is Inscriber(R) TitleMotion(R) Pro for Canopus, an advanced titling application that delivers broadcast-quality text, graphics and effects. The EDIUS 2.5 upgrade will be available end of June 2004 as a free download for registered users of EDIUS 2.0.

EDIUS 2.5 also includes a new EDIUS keyboard customization applet that reconfigures keyboard commands so editors can work with familiar shortcuts and easily fit EDIUS into their current workflow. EDIUS 2.5 can now import Canopus Imaginate 2.0 projects, as well as AIFF and Ogg Vorbis audio files, and includes a plug-in bridge that allows VST audio plug-ins to function as EDIUS audio filters.

The EDIUS 2.5 upgrade will be available end of June 2004 as a free download or CD-ROM for registered users of EDIUS 2.0. Alternatively, EDIUS 2.0 users can purchase an upgrade pack, which contains a CD-ROM and printed manual, for $ 30. EDIUS 2.5 will be available in July from Canopus, its authorized dealers and system integrators for a suggested retail price of $ 599.
