China manufactures 9 out of every 10 DVD players

China has
just exploded in the area of manufacturing and now they are dominating
many markets. We are even seeing Chinese manufactured automobiles in my
town now. This sends shivers up corporate spines in this country, as there is
hardly anything we can buy now, that does not say "made in China". According to
media firm Global Sources, China produced some 92 million players and recorders
last year.

"Mainland China's DVD player industry produces nine out of 10 DVD
players sold worldwide today," said the report's publisher, Mark
Saunderson. "Due to competition and falling prices, the industry has
shrunk to approximately 150 makers from more than 400 makers a year
ago."
