China market: Panasonic drops prices on 16x Super Multi DVD burners

This is
some good news for consumers (at least in China) from over at DigiTimes today, as once Panasonic makes an announcement like this, surely others will follow? Right? Anyway, the 16x Super Multi burners are such a good deal already, it seems difficult to lower prices any more for these drives that feature RAM capability.

Panasonic recently again reduced the retail price for its of 16x Super Multi DVD burners in the China market by 18% from 366 yuan (US$46) to 299 yuan, according to industry sources in Taiwan.

Other leading brands for 16x Super Multi DVD burners in the China market, including LG, Pioneer and Taiwan-based BenQ, Asus and Liteon, have not yet cut retail prices in response to Panasonic's move but are expected to follow suit sooner or later, the sources indicated.
