It's official: Circuit City will officially close its doors on Sunday, March 8.
Many Circuit City locations have already closed after selling off their inventory, but if you've been in the market for a random electronics accessory that may have been missed by all the bargain hunters, now is the time to try and purchase it.
About two weeks ago it was reported $1 billion in goods have been sold by the third-party liquidators Circuit City hired to help clear out stock. The number has inflated up to $1.7 billion today, and will increase a bit more prior to Sunday.

The Sunday closing date is a bit earlier than expected, but the company doesn't have a real reason to keep its 567 U.S. stores open any longer. The company ultimately failed because of bad upper management, poor customer service, and lack of marketing to generate customer interest.
The store, which was the No. 2 electronics retailer behind Best Buy, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last November, then promptly closed 155 stores.
Now that Circuit City is officially headed towards the white light, a recent poll of Circuit City shoppers indicates most of them will now head to Best Buy.
