Revision History
Version 2.5.4.1 28 June 2000

New features:

  • This CloneCD release has the motto: Fight the buffer under run!
  • Added variable buffers for main- and subchannel data.
  • Added two additional read/write threads
  • Added two buffer status bars
  • Added buffer size setting controls
  • Added "Wait until Buffer full" control
  • The Display Thread and the Read/Write control thread are now much less
dependant on each other. Writing or reading will not be disturbed, even if
the display refresh can't keep up.
  • Rearranged Thread priorities
  • Higher quality of extracted Audio Data with some CD-ROMs because of better
    buffering.
  • User Interface changed to look better, when large display fonts are
    selected.
  • Minor cosmetic changes

Bug fixes:

  • With many CD-ROMs and CD-Writers, reading of Mode2 (CD-XA) and CDI CDs
didn't work correctly and wrong values were stored in the *.ccd file. This
bug was undetected since the very first release of CloneCD. Amazing!
  • In addition to this fix, the write engine got a workaround. Old image
files with incorrect vales in the *.ccd file will be written correctly.
  • The Session Format of Mode2 (CD-XA) and CDI CDs was recorded incorrectly
in RAW-DAO mode, even if the *.ccd file happened to be correct. This bug was
undetected since the very first release of CloneCD. Amazing!
  • Recording a Mode2 (CD-XA) or CDI CD RAW-SAO mode could lead to a
    "CD-Writer not compatible" error.
  • Final fix for the error: "*.sub file
and *.img file do not match"
  • Fixed a possible startup problem.
  • When the Title Bar of any CloneCD Window was clicked and the mouse button
was held down during CD Writing, a buffer underrun occurred.
  • Fixed a lot of cosmetic bugs in the user interface.
  • The elapsed time display was not accurate.
