Yes, no longer do you spoil us with your textual pieces of art, you now also have the choice to show some more about yourself using a picture, which is called an avatar. An avatar is described by Wikipedia as a computer user's representation of himself or herself, whether in the form of a three-dimensional model used in computer games, a two-dimensional (picture) used on Internet forums and other communities.
That's a long sentence, we would just say, a picture that represents yourself. Even DukeNukem had some time to upload one between Sony bashing, not to forget shaolin007,Dr Who, SciFer, Crabbyappleton, AlexSGV, Hypnosis4U2NV, cd pirate and Zod, amongst others.
