A new two-disc edition of last year's released movie Transformers debuted at number 3 on the sales chart last week. Reason behind this is Blu-ray, says TVpredictions.com.
It is believed that the high percentage of Blu-ray sales for this movie means that the high-def audience is finally ready and willing to start buying Blu-ray movies. Normally Blu-ray sales account only for 15% or less of the total disc sales.
Many studios plan to release expected best sellers this fall, but still this wouldn't mean that Blu-ray will boost sales once again. Is the Transformers case a one-time only Blu-ray success or can we expect the format to finally take-off and reach a broader public?
