Cyberlink has announced it will join the likes of Ahead, Sonic, Ulead and
VSO-Software by supporting the DVD+R dual layer format (DVD+R9). According to
the company it will add the support for this format in its Power2Go and PowerProducer software. Also the company is claiming to be the first company that adds
support for burning of video from digital video, TV or VCR directly onto
disc.
 This new support enables users to burn high quality
video or TV recording directly to disc and up to 8.5 GB of data on one
double-layer disc. "We feel excited to announce our support for
double-layer DVD recording, especially to be the first to introduce
Right-to-Disc™ recording onto double-layer discs - This is extremely good
news for users who like to burn their home movies directly from DV
camcorders, since this provides almost double the recording capacity of
traditional 4.7 GB discs," said Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink.
