Cyberlink doesn't like AMD?

Yesterday was published an interesting news about a tool called CyberLink BD/HD DVD Advisor, useful to determine if a computer is ready for the new high definition formats.

After this release, some people used this tool to check their machines, and results was really surprising: it seems that AMD CPUs are not good for Hi Def.

We have re-run tests on both Windows Vista and XP, changed CPUs and even motherboards - but the lights remained the same: AMD CPUs are marked red. We're not quite sure at the moment - why did CyberLink launch even a beta version of the product, if that product contradicts statements made on their web-page?

Cyberlink stated clearly that this tool is still a beta version, and also that "The CyberLink BD / HD Advisor (Beta) is made for your reference only and is prepared in good faith on the basis of data or information reasonably available only, so that CyberLink does not guaranty its accuracy."

I wonder if this error is due to the fact that the tool is still a beta version or if there is another attempt to make appear that AMD CPUs are "inferior" than Intel ones (do someone recall a similar thing with Skype?)

Who is interested, can read the entire test review here.
