KDH used our news submit to tell us about this news release, stating that the DVD+RW Alliance is expanding testing and verification centers to three. The two new facilities will be in Japan and are hosted by Sony and Ricoh (Tokyo). The current Phillips verification lab in the Netherlands will still give the final certification of the media.
The goal of the media verification and certification program is to ensure optimal recording on discs in accordance with the standard. Only DVD+R or DVD+RW media that passes certification receives the certificate of conformance and is allowed to use the DVD+R, DVD+R DL or DVD+RW logo. Buying media with the +RW logo gives the consumer confidence that this media is tested and suited for reliable recording of all their precious data, photos and video materials. |
