Some weeks ago we reported about Data Scourge, a p2p program which allows you to share and transfer files. It has some nice features like multi-streaming technology. I also mentioned that eDonkey had the same features but Zer0 mailed me about this:
I just saw your posting of datascourge, and thought id tell you the new thing. It uses UDP instead of TCP, and when files are being downloaded from multiple hosts it streams in the correct order (doesn't break the file into segments). Also TCP has a limitation of about 100 socket connections maximum in windows 9x, UDP doesn't. Also UDP uses less memory. |
