Dell gives away Win2k product key on web site

Dell has made a little mistake, they've put accidently the product key of Win2k on their website. In an article on Theregister there is nicely described how you can get this key.

Just do some flipping, rotating and zooming and tada, there is your Win2K product key. Get it while you can, cause it's very likely Dell will remove it in some time !

The eagle-eyed team at tecChannel ((story auf Deutsch) has caught Dell publishing a Win2k product key on its web site. If you go to Dell's Latitude 810 spec page, then click on the 360 demo link, you get a nice rotatable image of the machine. Pause before doing so and note the www.microsoft.com/piracy/howtotell link at the bottom of the page.

Then flip the Latitude over, rotate and zoom until you see ever so clearly one of those standard stickers you get on the bottom of machines these days. Alternatively, you could just wander through other people's office flipping up machines when nobody's looking, but it's cool that Dell is doing a proper virtual version of this classic product key vulnerability. Dell is a deeply happening e-company, as we all know, and can thus be said to be walking the talk.

Now this is nice of Dell aint it..
