If you've been on the lookout for an 80GB Sony PlayStation 3 but don't want to spend the higher price for the console, Dell has a good deal for you.
Dell has the 80GB PS3 available for $339.99 shipped, and the consoles are new, not refurbished units, the site says. Amazon recently had a one-day sale of the PS3 for $350 a couple of days ago, and it's extremely likely future PS3 sales will take place in the future.
Both gamers and analysts alike believed Sony would need to lower the cost of PS3s as the price of standalone Blu-ray players significantly decreased over the past six months. Furthermore, the Nintendo Wii and Microsoft Xbox 360 game consoles are available for significantly less, which has added even more pressure to Sony and its marketing platform.
The Wii is still available for $249, while the Xbox 360 Arcade can be purchased for $170, with Sony lagging behind when it comes to matching Microsoft's price cuts -- despite having the worst sales numbers out of all three companies.
