Detectives smash Britain's biggest DVD piracy ring

The website
ThisIsLondon reports that the British polices has smashed Britains largest DVD
piracy ring after a 18 month investigation. The two men behind the piracy ring
have ben jailed for four years and sold over 400,000 copies making about 3
million GBP in less then two years. The men sold copies of -to be released -
movies at GBP 10 per DVD making GBP 8.80 profit on each copy sold.

The extent of their crime was revealed when police
raided their headquarters, a detached house in a smart suburb of Waltham
Abbey, and found a room piled floor to ceiling with 26,000 DVDs. The
pair's illegal profits funded first-class travel, fast cars and casino
gambling. Jailing them, Judge Inigo Bing said: "This was well-organised,
run as a business... a truly large-scale operation."

The discs came from Malaysia and were shipped to the UK
masked as blank discs. Read the entire story here. Anyone here from the UK who recently bought a movie that
was not in the cinema's for GBP 10,- recently?
