DivX codec (v5.0.1) now also available for Linux

SirDavidGuy used our newssubmit to tell us that DivX 5.0.1 is now available for Linux. Version 5.0.1 also includes the DivX 5.x encoder on Linux for the first time.

DivX video software is also available for Mac® OS and Linux operating systems. An alpha version of the DivX 5.0 decoder is available for Mac OS. A version of DivX 5.0.1 with a decoder and encoder is available for Linux. The Mac OS and Linux versions are different from the Windows version in some ways.

There is no version of DivX Pro available (yet) for Linux and Mac OS, and the Mac OS version currently only include the decoder. An encoder is in the works and will be released in the future.
