Engadget interviews author of FairUseWM, Viodentia!

If you would like to meet the author of FairUseWM and discover the author's views regarding DRM, this is the interview you don't want to miss.  Possibly the most interesting item regards the author's input on the benefit of having FairUseWM:

I think FairUse4WM is a good thing for the industry -- it demonstrates that the entire world doesn't turn upside down when there's no effective protection on content. I doubt subscription based services are impacted -- programs exploiting the analog hole were already widely spamvertised. The value of a subscription is the continuing access to new titles, which isn't dependent on the protection. I wonder if any subscription company will publicly admit that FairUse4WM was good for them.

The article also includes technical details in problems
with PlaysForSure.

While this is certainly one of more interesting interviews on the Internet, I hope this interview does not lead to trouble for Viodentia, Viodentia's testers and new allies.  It would be nice if this removing DRM from legally-purchased songs leads to a more transparent process and greater portability as Viodentia suggests Microsoft (and others) do.  Of course, if MS reads that and adapts is quite another matter.
