FastTrack protocol clone in alpha testing

Zeropaid.com reports that the several people are working on a clone of the FastTrack protocol. The FastTrack protocol is used to establish the networks of KaZaA and Grokster and it's spyware free versions. Earlier the gIFT project tried to copy the protocol but they ceased their developments because FastTrack was fast with blocking their access to it's network.

According to Zeropaid the new protocol has been copied so successfully that they think it will take FastTrack a lot of time before it will be able to block the clients that will be using the copied protocol.

RapidRoad, a FastTrack Protocol clone and Open Source has been rumored by Zeropaid.com forums. As a matter a fact, It is not a rumor, we are now working on it, as I speak. I cannot give you the direct link to the project page, since the RIAA, FastTrack and so on would be right behind us.

I do confirm what I've been reading: RapidRoad (aka RR) is now on its alpha phase, it IS compatible with grokster (has not been tested yet with KazAa) and the FastTrack network.

Anyway, the actual code is not meant for end-users, as I said, it's still in alpha. But we are now working a RapidRoadWorld, the public (and simplified, yet open-sourced) version of the RapidRoad network.

This means, if it's true, and if it's as good as Zeropaid reports that people will be able to build spy/adware free clients with more options and configuration/security possibilities. And as the FastTrack protocol currently is considerd as the most advanced it could also mean the developers of RapidRoad could build an entire new network based on the same protocol. Read more here
