A new FireBurner version has just been released with some handy fixes:
- Implemented work around for 2 compiler bugs that adversely affected threading and overall stability
- "Slow" problem on Win9x and ME boxes should be fixed for good now
- Significant performance tweaks related to synchronization of threads and communication with status screen
- FB Windows Edition now distributed via InstallShield Installer/Uninstaller
- Fix for FireBurner "expiring" on first run
- Cosmetic changes
Notes:
The first service pack for Delphi 6 is going to be released soon and will patch up a few more small holes in FB. As soon as it comes out, I'll release a new version of FB.
This was a particularly painful release I was almost to the point of going back to Delphi 5. Kudos to Mark and the other guys at Borland for helping me track down the problems.
