When we first posted about gIFT last year we already liked the development. Well a few weeks ago we reported that this open-source project could get a windows version: and here it is!
ReddEars was the first to tell us about the first windows gIFT client: The Qube beta 11.
The future of file-sharing lies in your reach with a brand-new program called The Qube. Working on a state of the art network and other networks such as GNutella, The Qube delivers maximum amounts of files straight into a friendly, skinable interface. Also, The Qube has features that you can't find anywhere else, such as the SHOUTCast Radio Tuner, rich-text instant messaging, and dockable windows with features such as a media player and user list (buddy list). It also houses many features that can be found on other networks, such as swarmed downloading. |
The Qube Beta 11 includes:
- gIFT Support (KaZaA, more files)
- New decentralized chat
- Fixed GNutella
- User Icons (similar to buddy icons on AOL Instant Messenger)
- minor upgrades to the radio panel and player
It seems this program is really cool! It supports KaZaA and Grokster along with its existing network and GNutella. Also the interface is really nice if you ask me, but I must say I haven't tested it yet.
You can get to the download page here or visit their homepage here.
