First picture of HP's Lightscribe CD-R media available

It has been a while since HP announced its
Lightscribe technology which allows users to write labels on the
labeling/non-recordable surface of a recordable disc. Recently Verbatim
announced that it agreed with HP to produce and market LightScribe ink for CDs
and DVDs.

Still, it's the question if the technology will become popular
in 2005. At least the release of the technology is making progress and today one
of our forum members (MacClipper

) posted a picture of Lightscribe 52x CD-R media, the first
real Lightscribe product we have seen in public.

More Lightscribe news will likely come
from the CES in Las Vegas this month. See a large picture and discuss this
technology in the original thread here.
