Today Sanyo has added a new product to its existing line of flash memory camcorders with the launch of the Xacti CG9. The camcorder features a total of 40MB internal memory and can capture image up to 9.1Mp resolution. Both pictures as videos are stored on SD or SDHC cards and memory cards of up to 32GB are supported. Sanyo says that an hour of video can be stored per gigabyte.
The Sanyo Xacti CG9 captures high-definition MPEG4/H.264 video that can be played back at 60 frames per second. The 9.1Mp camcorder has a Face Chaser feature that can easily identify up to twelve faces in the same image. After the identification the camcorder is smart enough to focus on their faces and exclude the whole background from the image. Hopefully you can easily switch this feature off because you don't want the Eiffeltower to be gone from your image because a group of twelve Japanese are looking at your lense...
Sanyo's newest camcorder has a 5x optical and 12x digital zoom. A sequential photo setting lets you take up to ten pictures in rapid succession with a shutter speed of 5fps. The Xacti CG9 is available in silver, black or pink and the 2.5-inch LCD display flips and rotates charming. Sanyo even states that the shape of its Xacti CG9 is ergonomically justified.
So, this camera is good for your hands... No more RSI due to a holiday of filming! Secondly it can easily get twelve faces in a screen and is avaliable in pink for those that can handle that. In the UK the Xacti CG9 will be available from mid-April and costs only 199 pounds.
