A news published at Engineering Times refers about H.264 decoder chips produced by Fujitsu. With the progressive spreading of Hi Definition content, the market is expanding and require new products to be introduced.
Other H.264 chips are already available from Broadcom, STMicroelectronics and Sigma Design, but these have only decoding capabilities, and are targeted mainly in optical disc players. The Fujitsu chip, instead, has also encoding capabilities, and is targeted in the camcorder market.
