According to a news published at High-Def Digest, Toshiba announced a $100 reduction for the price of first generation standalone HD-DVD players HD-A2 (from $499 to $399) and HD-A20 (from $599 to $499).
Toshiba is applying an aggressive price strategy also for the second generation player, the HD-XA2 (from $999 to $799). With a so fast price dropping on both sides of HD formats, probably end-consumers will be tempted to buy one of these players, but I think that the end of the "war" is still far...
