Sentinel and Womble have both let us know that Game Jackal has taken down its website, with nothing more than this message shown:
We regretfully announce that due to circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to continue selling Game Jackal.
Game Jackal was a popular CD & DVD emulation suite that allows users to play copy protected games from their hard disk without having to load a disc each time one wants to play a game. Game jackal v2.8 was the last version available, which was their first multilingual version.
It is unclear why they have decided to completely shutdown all of the sudden, unless they have ended up with legal action or something else nasty that suddenly occurred. However, so far the company has not provided any further information other the above message.
Sentinel added: As of today the CD protection emulator Game Jackal is no more. The site simply says "We regretfully announce that due to circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to continue selling Game Jackal." and all other links for sales and support are unavailable.
Another sad day. 🙁
