According to this article at PC PRO, unprotected HD films have started to appear on some of the Bittorrent trackers.
Although there have been HD films on these trackers for some time, they have been recorded from HD satellite broadcasts. Now Serenity has been posted with films like Batman Begins, King Kong and Chronicles of Riddick likely to appear soon as they have also been cracked allowing people to make a backup of their own HD-DVD discs.
Its going to be interesting to see the studios reaction to this. Will it make the HD-DVD format ever more popular or kill it by cutting studio support for the format?
At the time of writing this, I couldn't find any proof of this on any of the more popular trackers. I'm interested in the size of these backups as the size may well discourage piracy.
