Sony has introduced a new HD projector and believes it will "re-create the cinematic experience". If this is true can't be said yet, but let the company's press release be the first step to judge whether it has enough features to stun the real "home cinema enthusiast".
The new BRAVIA VPL-VW80 SXRD projector is supposed to be the next step in home entertainment. Sony believes that the "fine-grained" 1080p Full HD viewing experience will persuade movie and game buffs to buy the SXRD projector.
Offering High Frame Rate SXRD that operates at a rate of 100fps combined with Motionflow Dark Frame Insertion should re-create the promised cinematic experience. Motionflow works by creating intermediate frames from the original video source and inserting them to double the number of images displayed every second.
Besides these features the projector supports Deep Colour technology, a technology that increases the number of colours available within its given boundaries. Without getting to technical this technology is supposed to increase your experience and is best enjoyed with a next-gen gaming console.
So, if this projector is made for you depends on a few things... Are a real home cinema enthusiast, ready to drop some money and the proud owner of a next-gen gaming console? Yes? Well, according to the press release this projector should fit you...
