HM Customs & Excise Officers at Manchester Airport today seized over 5,000 pirated music CDs and audio cassette tapes which had been exported from Lahore, Pakistan and were intercepted en-route to a company in Greater Manchester.
The consignment consisting of the latest Indian Asian music releases has a retail value of nearly £50K. David Martin, Director of Anti Piracy stated, "I am extremely grateful for the continued professionalism of HM Customs & Excise which has resulted in ensuring that this consignment of pirated goods will not hit the streets. The BPI is registered with HM Customs & Excise, on behalf of our member companies in respect of intellectual property rights and we thank them for their vigilance". |
