Helium² Beta 1 released (an MP3 management system)

A person called Jansemanden was so friendly to use our newssubmit to tell us about a program called Helium 2. It is an MP3 management system to catalog your mp3 files.

Helium² supports playlist formats as m3u, pls, bpl all with extended information for import and/or export. Many other functions as MakeList wizard, full featured database, tagging versions from ID3 1.1 to ID3 v2.4, extension and/or file renaming with folder creation to any writeable media, easy move and copy files, Explorer like User Interface and WinAmp 2.76 support and alot of other useful functions. And there is much more to come in a very near future. Most important is CDDB2 support and MPEG checker which will be the first free upgrade for all registered users within 4-6 weeks from release date.

You have a Tagging Edition and an Advanced Edition. Unfortunately both program cost money ($14.95 and $35.00). You can check the differences of the two versions on their page.

Of course there is nothing wrong with software you have to pay for. But I'm wondering: is an mp3 collection manager a program to pay for? Personally I don't use one. And I think there are many other *freeware* programs available to do these jobs nowadays.
