heystoopid used our news submit to tell us: "As to be expected, the initial sales have been lacklustre for both competing formats, with many customers initial expectations with Blu-ray, being unfulfilled. Whilst the demonstration from SONY were spectacular , on the shop floor, the results have been mediocre, with many comments being "It is no improvement over the current output from the standard DVD player!". Oh well, given the extra expenses to convert to either format, new display unit, new amp, more loud speakers for the floor ceiling and walls to recreate the home theatre feel etc, looks like fence sitting may be the best option to avoid being stuck with gen 1 lemons?"
Good one there heystoopid, thanks for the news! It would
be a nightmare to lay out all the dough for one of these systems, including a
pricey, large HD display, then have to wonder if the picture is that great.
